Hofmeister takes Launceston Cup

Race favourite Hofmeister has won the Launceston Cup by one of the biggest margins in years.
The Victorian-trained horse was ridden by Brad Rawiller, who replaced his brother Nash after he was suspended on the weekend.
Despite heavy rain, Hofmeister raced away with the Cup with a lead of four lengths going into the final 200 metres. Futurity Stakes draw
Hot favourite El Segundo has fared well at the barrier draw for Saturday's Futurity Stakes at Caulfield.
The Futurity is the first leg of the Asian mile championship, which includes races in Hong Kong, Dubai and Tokyo.
El Segundo drew barrier four and is now odds-on favourite to win the race.
The horse's main rival, Melbourne Cup placegetter Maybe Better, drew barrier number eight at the outside of the field. Source: ABC
