Thorpe memorial service planned for Sunday
9:03 AM March 1

A memorial service for the late rocker Billy Thorpe will be held on Sunday afternoon at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

The singer died of a heart attack early yesterday at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney.

Thorpe's manager, Michael Chugg, says some seating will be available for members of the public.

"We'll release details as they come to hand," he said.

"It is a tribute, it's not a concert - we want the public to come along, but we want them to come along to pay respect and not for any other reason.

"We want to get across that it is a very sad day but it will also be a great tribute."
